There is something that I wanted to share with you. I may be mistaken but I think I may have seen that you may have presented at trainings where Andy Laue has also presented. Andy was one of the staff at the structured learning program (SLP) that my son Jesse was placed in when he was in first grade. MCPS had and still has SLP classrooms. They are Special education classes that have lockable padded rooms in them. When the students acted out, frequently due to unexpected change, they were locked in the padded rooms. At one point Andy and I were talking and he mentioned that he was going to California soon. I mentioned that my son Jesse was also going to be traveling to California to see his father. It turned out that they were going to be on the same flight. When Andy heard this, he said that he deserved hazard pay if he was going to be on the same flight as Jesse. Jesse was actually a good traveler who was going to be flying with one or both of his older brothers. Several years later, when I worked for Montana’s parent training and information center, Andy referred a parent from St. Ignatius to me. I don’t know what he told the mother, but she clearly thought that I could get the school to pay for her daughter’s college education, which of course I had zero control over. Some time after that I was working with a family whose daughter, who had an ASD, and who attended Big Sky High School. Andy had been seeing the girl since she was 4 years old. He never realized that she had an ASD. During the meeting at the school he was on the phone attempting to make suggestions. Unfortunately, none of his suggestions were helpful or even relevant. So if you are involved in any trainings or even interactions with Andy Laue, I thought that this would be good information for you to have.       Sorry for the late notice on this. We’re just squeezing this one in at the end of the year and so that will be it for 2023. I’m sure there will be other opportunities next year and I’m sorry it won’t fit for you this time.
